Default cisco ios upgrade problems again, help please

ok trying to upgrade the ios on 2514 router, I have establish connections can find file on tftp server however each time it copies it into the flash i get a text checksum error, expecting xxxxxx received xxxxxx (something different). Have read all i can find and its saying that the correct file sizes are not synchronized or something is not correct in the copying of the file, i cannot find anymore than that, was wondering if anyone has any suggestions how to sort it out, have already verified this ios should fit onto this system with current amount of memory

Where did you get your IOS image from (direct from CCO ?).

Post the image name and I'll check exactly how many bytes it should be. We've had issues where people have FTP'd an image between servers as text - not binary and corrupted it etc.

p.s. Have you got the transceiver now - I actually spent 10 min playing with a 1720 with an aux port but couldnt get the direct PPP link running....

so ur saying the ios is to big for the routers memory? i thought according to this line

cisco 2500 (68030) processor (revision L) with 6144K/2048K bytes of memory.

that would mean i had enough?? i did send the show ver to the guy who sent me the ios, he said it would go on??

thx

No thats the size in Bytes - should match exactly the image size on the router.

The "6144K/2048K" is the Dram (I forget what the split is at the mo) and your total is 8mb. It needs 8 Mb Flash (and will be a tight squeeze) but the CCO requirement is definately 8Mb DRAM, 8MB Flash so you should be ok if you can get an image that checks out ok.

i cant remember what it was exactly as i shut down the connection now, but im sure it was slightly different to that, i guess that means the image got corrupted clever me also wiped the flash, as i didnt read the part about backing it up till it was to late, didnt think i would have this problem, guess ill get him to resend me the image again

thx for the help
