Question Scoobynet access with AOL

I have not been able to access the Scoobynet site for the last couple of weeks from my home computer using AOL.

When I try to get scoobynet I just get a screen saying the site is under maintenance by Griffin Internet.

I have sent them an email and they have replied by saying I should speak with AOL.

Has anybody else suffered with this problem ?

Regards

Kiwi

Not seen it, but I'm sure it's an AOL problem rather than anything else.

try connecting using aol, once established open up internet explorer....

try then, I'm using aol & no probs here..

may be worth clearing your history & temp files from the aol browser too

Hi Kiwi,

What version of Windows are you running?

It sounds like the DNS lookup you're ending up with is out of date.

Cheers,

Chris.

chris,
the dns request from the local machine will be forwarded to the isp's dns servers not resolved locally.

Much more likey to be a caching problem of the aol browser, a good clear out of temp files & history should solve it

Who knows - could be a manual entry in HOSTS which stops the request going out to the DNS?

Either way, I still hate AOL
