open the cover - turn the printer off.

turn it on again and have your hand on the power cord ready.

at the appropriate moment yank it out

If I get a problems with my Epson I turn it off and gently pull the cartridge to the middle and take it out give it a gentle tap on some tissue paper

Cheers

might be worth getting some of this, I put some in an empty cartridge and start printing, seems to work, though my Epson is an old A3 pice of turd.

If your printer is the more modern type with the little "sim" cards on the carts you may have to sacrifice one to get it printing.

i think holding down the "paper feed" button for five secs prompts the change ink cartridge movement. could be the ink button but i think that cleans the heads.
