How can I forward a message without opening it?
I ignore most of my spam e-mail but now and again I get so annoyed with the subject title that I send the message to the abuse team at my ISP. The trouble is that when I hit the "Forward" mail option in Outlook the mail in question is actually opened and I guess I stand the risk of introducing a virus? Have I got the wrong end of the stick or is there a way of avoiding this please? DL

If the email does not have an attachment then it's pretty doubtful it's got a virus attached, so you should be ok to just forward it. If you've got some AntiVirus software checking your emails (which you should have) then if it reports no viruses in the email, again, should be ok to forward it.

You can open a new message, drag the existing one from the inbox to the new message and it should go as an attachment.
(but I was wrong about another outlook thing earlier and I might be wrong about this!!)

Thanks Guys (Hi Markus!), Will do. I thought there was a faint risk that you could get a virus from simply opening a mail (I understand about attachments) or is this just a "catching VD from the toilet seat urban myth"? I do have Norton installed which is updated monthly but I worry that it may not spot a newly released virus. David
