Dell latitude hard disk upgrade
Anyone done a dell latitude hard disk upgrade.
I was working on a friends laptop, ghosted her 6gb disk onto a 12gb disk.
When I put the 12gb disk in her latop it does not boot ?
Yet If I put the disk in an old IBM thinkpad it boots and I can log in ?
The only thing I can see is her laptop has old firmware A05 and they have A15 on DELL's site. But need to know this will work before attempting it.
Thanks
Iain :-)
p.s. Laptop is a Latitude CPx H

Upgradin the firmware won't cause any probs.I've done countless firmware upgrades on Dell laptops/desktops in work so it ain't a problem to do!!
Not too sure why the machine doesn't see the 12gb disk though.Perhaps you could call Dell Tech support, see what they have to say. (The first thing they'll ask is what bios revision you're running so go for it,upgrade it)
They can be contacted on 0870 908 0800 and you'll need to quote the Dell service tag which is on the underside of the machine on the CPx h
Good luck
Nick
