Default Outlook Express keeps destroying a load of my inbox emails!

Happened twice now, I had about 1000 emails in my inbox and they keep spontaneously diappearing. WTF is going on? I did not accidentally delete them.

They all do that, sir. (Well, at least, some of them do).

I know there's a database recovery program out there that can recover them - next time it deletes them, quit OE immediately and do a search for your Inbox .dbx file. IIRC it'll still be full-size, and it's only the NEXT time you run OE that they really get trashed. Recover the database while your messages are there and all is OK.

I think it has trashed it, just found that it is McAfee that eats inboxes. DBXtract could not find any more messages. Rather irritating that a virus killer that is supposed to extract your data actually eats it

Ah. That explains why I used to get trouble at work but not at home. I use Norton.

Sorry
