Could I be missing a driver for my graphics card?
I amm in the process of rebuilding my pc. It is all working save for the fact that when I scoll down a screen it seems to refresh in waves. Have I done something wrong? Could I be missing a driver? The graphics card in th pc is a "Geforce 4 MX420/64MB"

It could be the "refresh" settings of the monitor. Go into control panel, find display adaptors, click on the tab for settings, then advance, then monitor, and change the refresh rate. Trial and error from there.
Failing that could be incorrect driver. Try downloading the latest driver for your video card / operating system and re-install. (Following the instructions, as it may require that you uninstall previous verision first)
