Fax on computer with ADSL, how?
Hello you all,
b4 you all start here is what I need to achieve and what I know:
I have ADSL using a router.
I know that I would need a dial up modem and some software ( I think I have some here and yes I'm not buying or paying for some new one )
Now how do I set it up so that I still can use broadband while receive/sending fax?
If I don't sort it b4 this weekend, I must to go and buy a fax machine
Thank you for any help
Robert

Simple PCI modem will do you. Then, either use WinXP's built in fax client, Winfax, or whatever else you have.
As for "setting it up" so you can use broadband at the same time as using fax, there's no setting up to do, as the networking (i.e. ADSL) and telephony stack (fax) are completely independent of each other to start with.

However, if you wish to send a fax (via analogue PCI modem) at the same time you're using ADSL from the same phone line, you will need to plug the PCI modem's telephone lead into a ADSL filter, in the same way you have done with your normal telephones.
If you already have a normal phone and ADSL modem plugged into a filter then into the wall socket, you can always buy a normal double phone adapter and put the phone and fax into it, then it into the filter.
Hope I havnt confused you!
