I have 2 databases

Both have a common identifier but one holds different data to the other & the other has more records...


I need to merge the two dbs so that all the new records match up to the common identifiers in each case

For instance

Common identifier 1

DB A) has 1 record with 3 or 4 fields

DB B) has 3 records with 3 or 4 fields but all slightly different to the other record with the common identifier

Need to have a final DB of the 3 records (+ their fields) but with the additional fields from A) in each record, for each instance of the common identifier.

Doh!

How'd I do that then?

if it's excel, you can combine them in a pivot table

After youve done it in Excel, try using Access. Much more powerful and sounds like you may need to head that way in future.
