Just seen this post after your one on the GamersTags one.

Is your AOL broadband or dialup? What make/model is your modem?

What do you mean when you say you have to run it through your PC? Have you got your modem connected to your PC, and the XBOX connected to the PC? What operating system you running on the PC?

Have you enabled internet connection sharing on the PC and make sure the RJ45 cable connecting the PC to the Xbox is a crossed cable !

If the above is true and it is still not connecting you may want to assign static addresses as below

PC NIC
IP: 192.168.0.1
SNet: 255.255.255.0
DG: 0.0.0.0.

XBOX
IP: 192.168.0.2
SNet: 255.255.255.0
DG: 192.168.0.1

Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1

This should work fine as this is exactly how mine is setup and works 100% all the time.

If what Mogsi says doesn't work, how far through the connection settings do you get?

There are 4 stages on the XBox.....

1. Cables
2. IP Config
3. DNS
4. Connecting to Live

Which one does it fail on?
I'm sure we'll get you there in the end
