windows 98 se, did have xp but could,nt live with it so back to 98,same prob in xp anyway, frame rate down as low as 6fps in some curcunstances, ge-force 4 ti 4600 graphics card 128mb ddr ram clock speed 350nhz. 2ghz cpu, 512mb 133 ddr ram, direct x 9, latest ge-force drivers, tried dropping the graphics settings in the game, no joy, had a play with the settings in the card drivers interface,{display propities} no joy, games most affected are cfs2, fs2002, any ideas out there

Does seem a bit low
Dropping the quality settings in the games you mentioned shouldn't make much difference as they are CPU dependant rather than GPU dependant.
Try some older drivers that are more tailored towards Win98 perhaps.

daz34, thanks for the suggestion, put the old drivers back on which came with the card frame rate in cf2 has gone up from 12/18 fps to 50/90 fps well pleased with that, fs2002 has a slight improvement of about 2/4 fps, so its getting there, thanks again

Geforce 4's love the 41.09 drivers, you can get them from www.guru3d.com
Make sure you have anti-ailaising and Ansiostropic Filtering switched off in the advanced properties as this will slow you card down immensly.
Does you motherboard have a intel chipset ie: 845 or 865 ?
If it does, try downloading the intel chipset inf drivers
