Do i need a specific version of MAME to run the ROMs on Xbox ? I have found a load of ROMs and the MAME application but i assume that the .exe is for Windows only.

I thought I read on the site of the author of mamex that he had basically given up as the team at Sourceforge could do so much more so much quicker. So I've also only tried MAMEoX

Think thats a subject best taken off-list
S'Net has some odd moderation tendancies. You can discuss tax evasion in NSR - but not the swapping of ROMS from arcade machines which have long since stopped being sold

Only thing is I have enough games to fill 2x 120Gb drives.
Playing NFS:UG off a full h/d = jerky gfx cause it spools it off the h/d
Anyone know if you can defrag a Xbox h/d?

Wierd mate, mines full up and eveything loads perfectly and super fast too.
Apparently, the X-Box HDD doesn't need defragging . . . ever. Something to do with the way its partitioned and the FatX file system.

hmmm wierd, I only seem to suffer with NFS:UG. PGR2 runs perfectly.
Can't remember what drive I put in it now, but it was a recommended make. The only thing it could be then is that it's a 5200rpm one, not a 7200 cause I was told they run too hot (which isn't the case as it happens grrrrr)
