'Tiny' computer modem problem
#1
Mates machine not mine! Honest
Cant get modem comunicating! - Can't even get into BIOS to see what is going on in there.
Have tried my ADSL modem that works fine allowing me to download drivers etc. Have also tried another modem Conexant 56k V90 which I think is working - need to do a bit more work on it tonight.
Any ideas how to check the 'Tiny' one? TINY site gives reference to TIME computers and offers software downloads related to their part Nos - What's that all about then????

in the past with unknown modems, I have removed the modem and looked for a part No on the main chip - just make a note of some of the numbers and google them.
alternativley,if not a bit long winded, there should be an FCC No on a sticker on the back of the modem - if there is you go to the main FCC site bang in the No into a search field, this in turn should give a text page which lists about 3 zillion different licences.
do Ctrl + A to select all the text, copy it then paste into a word doc.
then search the word doc again ( edit/find ) bang in the part no again and you should see it highlighted. That will be the licence for that modem, and listed will be the part No & manufacturer.
I got this for an ISDN card by the FCC search:
1006-CX-99
