I will be moving house in 2-3 months so emailed Pipex to ask about moving my ADSl account.
They say due to BT policy I will have to cancel my account, then re-apply for a new account at the new house, even though the new house already has ADSl and we are taking the same phone number.
Anyone know anything, or what i can do? Dont want to be without a service whilst we move.

dw,
yep thats the only way, you have to 'cease provision' on one line and setup again on the new one. Still the lead times for wires only installs are pretty short these days and if you know the number could order now in time for moving in!

Hello
If you take your own number, you may have to wait up to 42 days whilst BT regrade your new line and update their database.
If you keep the number of the house you move to, you will be able to order on the SAME day that you move, but not before. As BT cancel all contracts that are on the line when you take over.
Wander through adslguide. Lots of information there.
Steve.
