Exclamation

Just got put onto this by a friend.

PC World are doing a Compaq 5290 for £550.

Its a 2.66 GHz P4 CPU
DVD-RW and CD Writer
120 GB HDD
XP Home and Works (Works sucks, get Office)
256 MB RAM
128 Radion 9600 Video card
6 USB
2 Firwewire ports

This is an absolute cracker imho. Only thing it could do with is another 256 MB RAM.

For the business people its even better as you can save 17.5 off that 550. However no monitor is included in the package, but ideal if your upgrading.

Cool

If you can stretch to £850 have a look at this bargain.

Ok, it's a Time machine, which some people will not like, but the internals are all the bloody same on these things anyway

Yes , the PC world deal is a ripper, plus you would be safe in the knowledge, that if you spent another £300 with them, you could take it back once a year for their " PC health check " - read - disc cleanup, defrag, and a good laugh at **** jpegs in the temp internet folder
