I recently brought a Ipaq 5550 and under close inspection behind the battery there is a sim card slot anybody got any ideas what its for or what I can do with it ?

The prevailing theory is future iPAQs will also be a cell phone, hence the SIM slot.

However, it's been explained that the current iPAQ's SIM slots
are lacking the internal circuitry to access the cards.

There is also a Wi-Fi service that requires security with a SIM -like Smart Card... however this looks likely to be another future possibilty.
