Windows XP And 3.11 for workgroups on same drive?

After spending today having a good tidy up i have stumbled upon... original install discs for windows for workgroups 3.11. I fancy being all nostalgic and having a play with it again. Now the question is, will it install on the same partition as my windows xp install and/or will it mess up the boot options?

You need a program called partition magic. You can have DOS, 3.11, 95, 98 and 2000 , linux all on the same computer through windows XP

What type of partition does the new one need to be, and how do i boot to dos prompt to install 3.11 as windows xp doesnt have a true dos prompt?
