I've just ordered a Soltek 3702:

http://www.soltek.com.tw/soltek/product/qbic.php?isbn_st=SL-B7A-F&qisbn_st=EQ3702

It comes with a fan already, but now I'm buying my AMD chip, I wanted to know whether I need to get one with an integrated fan or whether just the fan the case comes with will be sufficient.

I don't even know if the AMD chip fan will even fit in the case - from what I've read the case fan is very close to the chip?

Can you tell I'm new to all this?!

Thanks

it depends on wat sort of fan it is,if it is one that is built into the side of the case that wont be enough.the chip itself need a heatsink on it with a fan attached straight onto that.especially with the faster speed ones, they do make quite a bit of heat.when u buy the chip they should ask u if u want a fan and that with it anyway.

Check with the barebones mfr / supplier.

I built a Shuttle system this week and it came with it's own heatsink and fan as the Intel or aftermarket one wouldn't have fitted into the case.
