sending commands direct to cable router?

I have a belkin cable router and use its web interface to control it, restart etc. Is there any way to send commands direct to routers without going through the web interface?

has it got an serial or rj45 port marked as 'console' or similar ?

Can you telnet to it's maangement IP address?. Most routers havc a telnet interface in addition to the web one.

If there is a serial/par connection you can use hyperterminal.. nexland/symantec use this when the web interface dos'nt work= alot!!

Why can't you use the web interface??
