That should just about do it

basically install xlink on pc, open ports 34518-34519 (udp) on router (if you use one) set needed firewalls permissions, boot up xlink on pc go to game room and join a room. Boot up xbox with chosen game go to system link multiplayer options and all being well you should find the game

ps Xbox doesn't need to be chipped for Xlink but does for BoXLink.

The only game I won was the first one where everyone else piled into the first corner and I had a lucky escape

Got slaughtered at the Ring though Superb track.

Who was "Matt" ? Neanderthal ? Whoever it was had serious lag

Get a bit fed up with the TeamX4 folks though, who have used the downloaded saved game to unlock everything, I'm just jealous because I haven't unlocked everything yet

Will have to get the STi and have a good Ring battle.

The ring was a good laff. Who was in the Enzo I was battling it out with??? I was in the CLK Merc.

I added the save game in last night (thats why my name changed all of a sudden) cos I haven't had the time to complete it recently but wanted to try some other cars.

Got to see a few tracks that I've not tried out yet That small oval shape one with the hairpins at each end is cool. Shame I picked a yank tank with the turning circle of a small town to race with

 

yeah, mate of mine does oval cicuit racing and i just thought it would be a good laugh, going to try NFS-U in a while see if that works although it's not a listed game

Got Xlink working fine Cookie, only two problems, lack of games, (prob cos its early) and loads of muppets in Enzo's etc (which I dont have} who only seem to want to race on ovals etc with huge straights. No skill no fun. Is this the 'American' experience

Thanks for the info, glad it works, pity about no voice, not that I yap much and I suppose we set it all up in the game room.

It does support voice, either by the xbox comunicator or by headphones and mic plumbed into pc, and although it only says those games other may work just need to try

I take it it works the same way as Live? as in someone hosts a game. Would prefer it if everyone had similar cars though, why does everyone (read all teenagers and Americans ) go straight for the Enzo though

 

Oh, I guess no one had it switched on, probably just as well as they wouldnt have liked what I had to say I take it you dont get the little mic icon then.
