I have set up a pop3 and smtp server on a local machine on my network and configured it, and it works fine via the network. However, i have mapped a port through the router to ports 110 and 25 but it just does not seem accessible from outside the network. Grc.com says the ports are open but from what i can see they arent, and i cant connect to my external ip.

routing is set up like this, other routing to that particular box works jut fine but this doesnt seem to.

any ideas?

Dave

Can you telnet to those ip/port combinations from the outside world? Depending on your provider and package they may be preventing access to some well known ports specifically so you can't run a server.
