cpu problem

i have recently had ntl broadband installed on my computer and am now having problems.after about 15 minutes of browsing the computer seems to freeze.when i go to task manager it reads that cpu usage is 100% and i have to manually shut down the computer. any ideas?

I have a similar problem on some web pages - just seems to take forever to load, and I notice its maxing out the CPU for some odd reason

I've got a feeling it's a bug in explorer or Win2K

Are you connected via usb or nic, is virus protection up to date, do you use a firewall.

Daveydog how does your modem connect to your pc ? is it use or Ethernet ?

Sorry not got a clue for yours.

USB may be causing the freeze ups on yours, have you got a network card (nic) install on pc.
