I've got a Toshiba SD100e (ancient, I know!), and I'm in the market to upgrade this weekend.

I'm ideally after a Toshiba (in black), purely because I like the picture, and it also has to be available at Richer Sounds (got to take advantage of their buy back warrantee!!!) But I would like to look at other brands.

What do I want out of this machine? Well -

1. It has to play DVD+r & -r (and the RW derivatives)
2. It has to play CDrs (not overly bothered about CDRW, although it would be nice)
3. MP3 compatabilty
4. DTS
5. Optical and Coax Digi (pretty standard by now)
6. DivX?
7. WMA etc?

Can anybody give me some recommendations?

Does it matter what brand of media I'm using (CD & DVDr etc)?

Thanks in advance,

Scoob

Have to add, my budget is about £180.

I know exactly what you want and it'll play DivX movies also:

Have a look on http://www.scan.co.uk for Kiss Technology DP-1000 Slim DVD Player DIVX (this is one of the basic models.

Also the manufacturers website is : http://www.kiss-technology.com

You'll find they're quite reasonably priced too!

Thanks Frank,

But I've got to get it from Richer Sounds - I've got too much of a part-ex value to get if I take it there.

Also, I very picky about the picture quality - I really like the Toshiba stuff.....

Granted, the Kiss one looks very highly spec'd though....

Any other suggestions, Toshiba, Yamaha, etc?
