PC game running too quick

Have just installed prince of persia the sands of time on my laptop, great game but it is running far too quick, the speed needs to be halfed at least, i have looked in the options of the game but there are no speed settings. does anyone have any ideas of how i could slow the game down

Is it an Intel processor? If it is, then it could be Speedstep making it run fast. I don't own a laptop that has that so not sure how to turn it off. Maybe an option in the bios or the power control panel?
The game I play at the moment, Planetside, people using Dell laptops in particular with Speedstep have a speed advantage.
