Question

Bit of a strange one this. On my home computer (thanks Neil ) which is running XP Pro Scoobynet keeps not displaying properly. All the buttons up at the top (VIP, Favourite etc) only show up as a (very) small blue underscore, but are still clickable. The New Topic and Reply buttons disappear completely!! That made posting this a challenge!!

What I have found just now is that Zone Alarm Pro (free trial) would appear to be the problem. I booted up with it running and didn't get the buttons. Stopped it, refreshed the page and bingo, buttons!

On my laptop, which is running Black Ice on Win2K, I don't have any problems.

So, anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening, and what I can do? (Other than stop running Zone alarm.)

Edited just to prove the button currently exists, and certainly not to correct a spelling mistake, oh no!

Sorry to say this Iain....

But I run both XP and Zonealarm without any problem whatsoever.

At a guess I'd say some of the privacy functions are enable on ZoneAlarm. Don't really know it well (certainly worked with XP/Scoobynet with me in the past), but it's worth checking through the options. Sorry can't be any more helpful than than

May well be "advert blocking" causing the problem...

Iain

I like Scott also run XP pro with Zone Alarm with no problems at all. It may be an inherant problem with the free version. There are quite a few other free firewalls that you could try although I have not tried them. XP does have its own built in firewall which you can turn on but again never used it so I cant comment.

Hope this helps some.
