thanks for the reply. nope still not working I had already tried that. it's when the MSN Messenger is open it's got my user name there and all anyone has to do is click on my name and it will log in.
It use to ask for my password before it would sign in...fecking bill gates . MSN probably requires that I become a paying memeber to deactivate this purposely set bug

If you're using XP, go to Control Panel > User Accounts. Click on your username to and in the top left corner will be "Related Tasks" click Manager my Network Passwords, then find and delete the MSN sign on. (If you cannot see an entry which matches your MSN ID, delete the "Passport" entry instead.)
Next time you attempt to connect to MSN Messenger, the username field will be blank.

Thanks for that Fig. I tried as you have suggested and still it does not work (tried as described). Yep I am using XP.
Any further suggestions? Don't want anyone just clicking on my MSN user name to log in without using a password...

got an update:
After changing my profile in the Net Passport. The sign in as my user name still appears in the MSN window but because I've changewd my password in the Net Passport, it requires me to enter my new password when I click on the "Sign in as..." Now this is OK I suppose (better than having a free click for all)
I'm not making myself clear am I?

Strange. If you delete your MSN ID (or Passport) from the Network Passwords, then it should remove your details from the log in page. I've just tested it again on my machine (also XP) as it does exactly as I described.
You might also go to Tools > Options > Privacy tab and clear the ticks from the first and third boxes.
