Question

Hi Peeps,

Just been given the task of researching and installing a problem ticket system for our internal users.

Basically its just so a) people can file requests b) we can keep track of them.

Some things it must do:

Work on an NT platform (I wouldnt be happy maintaining a linux box)
Have a web interface and good search capabilities.
Be low maintance.

We did use Trackit but we all came to the same conclusion - it sucks donkey ***** in terms of speed and UI.

I think Ideally we are looking for something like bugzilla but a bit more NT friendly.

Any ideas/suggestions ?

We used to use Keystone http://www.stonekeep.com/keystone.html

you may be able to get that to work, but it is mostly a *nix app.

Have you looked at some of the replacement interfaces for Bugzilla? That'd get my first line of investigation if no-one else suggests anything...

We use Request Tracker 3 on UNIX, but there seems to be 2000 and XP ports of which I've never used or heard of. You'll need a MySQL 4 or PostgreSQL 7.3 database though. www.bestpractical.com/rt/

Cool

We are trying out mantis for keeping track of bugs during development of products within our dev team. Although it's currently in beta, it seems realiable enough, has a decent set of features, and the price is right

http://mantisbt.sourceforge.net

Note you'll need mysql and php...
