Hi

I have a conexant AMX-CA64E adsl router which i am trying to configure with MIRC.
I have tried the MIRC message board with no luck so your my only hope!
I can Dcc recieve with MIRC but I cannot resume downloads. I believe it is due to my router not allowing it
I need to set the port forwarding on my router. I have set it so far virtual ports 59 TCP, 6024 to 6028 TCP and 113 UDP. Do the public and private ports have to be set the same ie 59 private port and 59 public port?
I have set up Mirc to ports 6024 to 6028.

I hope someone can help me out there.

Um AFIK port 59 doesnt have anything to do with IRC. 59 is just for fserve which should matter when downloading using DCC. I'm guessing you have checked the Proxies and Firewall FAQ at MIRC right?

DCC basically uses a port in the range 1024-5000 so if you lucked out and hit a mapped port on your first attempt this might explain why you couldnt resume.

Other than that I cant really see why you'd get through once and not be able to resume (as it would be using similar mappings etc).

Any more Q's let me know.

HTH

Try determining the port manually instead of letting the software do it for you and then tell us what you get.

PRIVMSG Username CC RESUME filename port position

filename = the filename sent by Username.
port = the port number sent by Username.
position = the current size of the file that you have.

i had todo this

i downloaded a tool called portmapper which lets you set up a few ports just to use with mirc/any other choice of programs

the problem i had was that my dads pc kept crashing tho and ****ing up all my settings when it rebooted

i had a fserve setup on irc for my dj mixes and in the end i just gave up and hosted them online and left the mirc purley for chat

intresting note was that msn messenger was the same until the new version came out and now i can send stuff through msn as normal?
