Question

Anyone have any good suppliers of these tapes and if there is any benefit between manufacturers i.e. Quantum, HP, Maxell, etc..

So far I've found Maxell tapes @ £19 each.

I need 44 of the little beggars for a couple of Quantum VS80 drives.

I was quoted around £48 for some DLT1 tapes (80-160GB), but turns out our VS80 drives use the std IV tapes. Our current stationery co (Corporate Express) quoted around £25. Then I found out our Head Office pays around £24 from SoftCat.

m8 of my Brother's setup his own company and can get the Maxwell ones for £19.35.

Just off the phone. I've been quoted:-

28 tapes - £19.58
44 tapes - £19.00
cleaning tape - £19.27

Just in case anyone else is needing to buy some.

That's damn good pricing. Can they get AIT?

BTW, 80-160GB would be SDLT (IIRC!). DLT 1 is something like 15 to 30GB.

Hi Chris,

Yeah, they can do AIT tapes. All I would need to know is the exact type and quantities and I can ask for you.

Or I can forward on his details if you'd rather speak to him directly.
