System Fan - attaching to mainboard sysfan connector
#1
My system fans just have the normal power connector similar to the type I'd have on my CD-Rom / Hard Disk etc. There are no apparent means to plug it into my vacant sysfan connector on the motherboard to give me info like sysfan rpm.
Question:
Do I have to buy a special system fan with the appropriat plug on it
Or:
Is there an adapter that will allow me to plug my system fan into the motherboard connector ?

If the fan came with the 4 pin molex (same as CD etc) I'd advise sticking with it. I know that my Coolermaster CPU fan draws quite a bit of power and connecting it to the fan header on the m/board can damage the board. The fan I had came with another connection to fit on the header to monitor fan speed.
With my case fans, they are all connected with molex connectors and have incorporated speed regulators.
