Question

Anyone on here have any experience of using the Sony DRU-510AK DVD writer?

Just wanted to know if it is any good.

i have a dru 500a very similar writer (use same firmware) i had a some trouble burning @ 4 x, this was fixed by useing a lite-on flash firmware (i think sony have a new firware out now as well). i have not had a disc fail because of the drive. i did have a pioneer 105 b4 this and that would not burn cheap disc's

we got a bucket load to ensure we could burn any format we wanted - they work really well..

i am the same as donutman i also have a dru 500a. does the lot and if you upgrade firmware to latest 2.0g then it does cheapo x4 blanks no probs, in fact i am wrting a bulkpaq x4 as i type this. i would recommend the latest version of nero to get the best out of the burner. you can get the latest firmware from the SONY SITE
