Question

EG 2500+ 2800+ etc. I know this does not mean 2.5 or 2.8 Ghtz. Is there a formular or do you just need to know the individual speeds for each chip?

No formula as AMD changes the rating system with each chip generation. Earlier rated chips were comparable to Intel ratings, praps even a bit pessimistic but the newer chip ratings are way too optimistic IMHO.
All processor ratings are here
