component cable for PS2

hey,
I've got a plasma screen which has the three cables for picture (component) so i went and bought myself the right cable for my PS2. i thought this would make the picture quality much improved, but instead it like playing a PC game on the lowest resolution possible, its all very pixeled, and well just doesnt look good:S anyone else had any experience in this??

wouldnt waste your cash
i have a good sony projector and i paid out £100 for a top quality component lead to connect up to that
and unless your a right audiophile i couldnt tell the difference between my gold plated composite cable which cost £10, luckily i managed to get my money back from the shop
