I have a Compaq Proliant 1600 server with 3 drives configured as RAID 5.Now 1 of the drives has failed and I have brought a secondhand one, which the supplier told me has information already on it.
Is there any chance that by putting a drive in with array information on it that it could corrupt the current array
Has anyone experienced this before ??
Cheers

Nope should be fine, done it hundreds of times
The data on the new drive (if any) will be destroyed, and the Array Controller should start to rebuild itself onto the new drive
