Basic windows question!
#1
Daft question that loads of you must know the answer to.
How do I get new IE windows to always open maximised? I right click on a link, Open in New Window and the bloody thing then creates a new IE window that is tiny. Very annoying.
I know it can be set to maximize automatically but I can't find where

had a look throught the tools and not found anything myself but you could try this.
File > new > window.
Maximize.
right click the tab of the original window in the task bar and close...
File > new > window.again.
Should now opoen maximised
whether it remembers it when you turn it off or not I dont know

Tried that too
If I open a new window from an IE shortcut then it does open maximised. Likewise if I "Create" "New" it is also maximised. Unfortunately it only opens in small size if I right click a link and select "Open in New window". Which is, also unfortunately, all I ever do!

There is no size option on right click.
Dragging the window to resize then closing and reopening does not seem to work if the new window is then opened from right clicking on a link then "Open in new window".
Thanks anyway
Come on you IT gurus, someone must have the definitive answer!!

One last try!........
Go to the Explorer icon on your desktop, or the item on your Start menu
Then right click, Properties
On the Shortcut Tab, go to Run
Select 'Normal Window', 'Maximised' or 'Minimised'
Click OK

Arggggggghhhhh!!
Thanks Pete - thought we nearly had it there....
If I create a shortcut to the IE folder then I can set that to open maximised but the actual IE folder itself will only generate a small window. Right clicking a link on a webpage seems to access the IE folder hence only opens a small window. Is there anyway I can change the action of the "Open link in new window" then? Can I get it to go to the shortcut rather than the actual IE file?
Who'd of thought it could be so tricky!

Cheers jules - nearly there!
Ctrl+shift+link will create a new window but any subsequent clicks from the first page don't create a new window, they just reuse the second window that was created. What if I want to open lots of links from the first page (e.g opening hits from a Yahoo search results page).

P130J,
Ok then, try this:
1) do a google for a large list of items
2) ctrl+click your first link
3) shift+click all links after this
Just tried and I have a lot of full screen windows open Each time you are at a new window, you'll need to ctrl+click to start opening windows off that page in full screen windows.
