Our alarm system uses an analogue line. We are proposing to use this for ADSL. Has anyone done this? Are there any issues I should know about?

I was told by a Cold Calling ADT Alarm Salesman that their system wouldn't work on our ADSL enabled line, but I can't see why it wouldn't so long as you had a filter on the line that the alarm is connected to the same as your other sockets. It is, after all, just a phone dialler.

I had many discussions with ADT about this at my previous address. After explaining what the ADSL filter does and they should install one between the alarm box and the main phone socket, they would not and insisted that it would not interfere with the ADSL. Of course when it dialed up, the ADSL connection was lost.
My system only dialed out when the alarm went off. Therefore I guess if my ADSL connection disappeared only at that time, I could put up with it.
