Ok, try this, it's for a 9012AF. I've uploaded it to the firm's website to make it easy for you to grab.

http://www.icrtouch.com/Win98-ME-2000.zip

I think there are others, if there are, I'll do the same.

Good luck

9102AF, sorry. There is at least another manafactured by this firm, I'll stick that up now for ya

Quick bit of help needed please as I'm on site

Have a PC which will not get on the network...I am getting the error message that the PCI Ethernet Controller drivers are not found. I have tried using a Windows 98 SE CD-ROM with no joy and I am unsure what MoBo is in the box...it just says Patriot on the front

Any suggestions for websites where I can download generic drivers please?

Cheers, Jon

Edit to add:

It is a mini desktop with no PCI slots thus the NIC is onboard and I have to get it to work as I can't add a new PCI NIC and the Charity's budget will not stretch to a new PC

You're not likely to get generic network drivers. How old is the computer?

www.driverguide.com has stacks of drivers, but ul still need to know what the nic is.

Lift the lid off the computer, if it is a plug in nic then great, they're be some identifiable marking on it, if it is on board then there will normally be a chip dedicated to the network, markings on this may help identify it.

When the computer first boots it normally lists all PNP hardware, it may be possible to identify it from this, although it normally only gives a PNP id

When you boot the computer is NETWORK ADAPTER or something like that displayed on the 2nd boot screen, just after it goes "beep", if it is it'll have 2 pnp id's one for the manafactureer, and one for the model, this may or may not be of use, I might recognise it

Or you could open the pc and see who makes the nic chip from the stamp and its model number.

Ok, the manafacturer is "Davicom Semiconductor Inc." which is a start, I'll scout round, see what else I can find out

Well, I've found their drivers site, but it don't wanna come up on mine, I suspect it wont on yours either, but it is worth a quick go http://www.davicom.com.tw/eng/download/driver.htm

I'll keep looking ...

Ok, here's 2 more.

DM9008 http://www.icrtouch.com/DM9008F.zip I'm not totally convinced about this one, I don't believe it woz manafactured by Davicom, but other people think different ...

http://www.icrtouch.com/Davicom9102.zip (about 2mb) I think this is just a bigger version of the first I gave you

If none of these work, then wip the lid off the unit, and then look for any chip wiv "Davicom" marked on it, this should then give us some idea as to it's model number

Good luck

Hi zhastaph,

Can I just say what an absolute star you are the first one has installed the adapter albeit with a code 10 error.

That's good enough for me tonight and I'll worry about getting it going tomorrow when I'll have access to a screwdriver to get inside the box

Cheers, Jon
