Buying bits seperately instead of a package and have seen lots of different gps units that will plug into the handheld.
Just wanted to know which ones you recommend, especially when on a budget so not the best they have etc, and where is the best place to buy them from?
Oh and other question is how do you power the handheld and gps unit at the same time with only one lighter socket

I have an IPAQ 3630 running TOMTOM v2.
The GPS is a haicom 203e ( size of a matchbox ).
The GPS is serial with a ps/2 like plug, the lighter cable has two plugs, one for the IPAQ and a PS/2 like socket for the GPS.
So both GPS and IPAQ are powered from the cig socket, along with GPS IPAQ comms through the cable as well.
All hangs together nicely and works well.
