Hi,

Anyone know of any hotfix and service pack security management software to deploy windows 2000/xp/etc hotfixes?

I looked at UpdateExpert (which is just what we are after) but as we are education we cannot afford such a big hit for the 500user license / 3year cover.

Any other products about? I know of the MS one, but I would like a program like UpdateExpert instead

Thanks,
Christian

I believe HFNETCHK from Shavlick will do something similar in terms of patch rollout but it does not do any testing of the patch like UpdateExpert from St Bernard. HFNETCHK also comes in different flavours but you can ascertain the right one from their web site (http://hfnetchk.shavlik.com/).

We have in our policy that normal users cannot install software. What access rights does M$ SUS use when installing updates?
