Since installing a Nokia Data Cable on my other PC - I can no longer get the Olympus Camedia software to work. I presume they are both sharing Com Port 1. When I start Camedia it says check your Com Port setting, but I am fooked if I know how to, let alone how to change it [thats if it is possible to]
If I uninstall Nokia Suite, Camedia will run fine.

To check port settings..
Click on controll panel
Systems Icon
Hardware Tab
And you should be able to get a list of all the hardware on your computer from there.. Ports will be listed click on it to get to view the settings and change if you need to...
You should be able to change the communication port
from within the software you are using aswell...
Hope this helps

Thats something i dont know neighther hehe (sorry )
Can you change the communication port from within the software your using?
For example from nokia pc suite you should be able to sellect a different communication port...
If this doesn't work then uninstall both software.. install nokia suite first and then install camedia...
I had the same problem with a couple of sofware packages.. cant remember exactly how i sorted it... defragmenting the drive seems to get it sorted sometimes too...
You probably done all this already.. sorry if i'm just repeating stuff you've already done...

You got a taskbar icon for it? If so, disable it/exit and try again...
What happens is that any software that uses a Com Port, tries to check its there & then it "locks it" to that program. So, another program (Camedia) come along after it is "locked" to the 1st program is denied access.
Check for Taskbar/System Tray Icon (bottom rhs) and generally right-click/exit to disable.
Or
Check for Nokia Software loading in the Startup directory & either delete or move elsewhere, then reboot PC or log out/in again.

As Puff suggests, the Nokia suite is almost certainly running in the background at all times, monitoring the port, ready to spring into life the moment you connect your phone. This locks the port, preventing other applications using it.
Disabling this might be as simple as right-clicking a taskbar icon and selecting "Exit", but if that doesn't work, you may need to get a bit more technical. Let us know!
