My computer has just gone funny - can anyone help?

All the pictures and smilies on all web pages have turned into red crosses.

Why has this happened all of a sudden?

Have u disenabled "show pictures" in you internet options?

Check by doing the following:-

Internet Options, Advanced, scroll down and tick the check box "Show Pictures"

'show pictures' is ticked.
That was the first thing i checked (multiple voting on ratemyride).

Any other ideas?

If you right click on a red cross and choose show picture, does it reappear?
