Has anyone managed to get round this to allow Office to automatically shut down when trying to shut Windows XP down?

I don't think there is a fix for this. Its an issue with the ties between microsoft programs and the way that 2k shuts them down seperatly.

why can you not just close outlook and then shut it down? Its only 1 extra button stroke.

Write a batch file to kill Outlook and gracefully shutdown the system?
