Just so you all know we are starting to see stock on ipod over the next few days. Apple have confirmed some larger shipments to MacWarehouse.

Please also be aware there are 3 capacaties 10,15 and 30Gb.

We should have a good number of the 30Gb ipod delivered this week only leaving a small number of backorders.

G5s are now starting to come through in quantity across the range and we are hoping to have around 200 unit in this week.

We are also having to see some announcements next week at the European Mac Expo on 16th September so watch this space.

OK 15Gb now EOL and 40GB now officially released in the UK.

PowerMac G5s now in stock in limited numbers.

Should be a good number of 30Gb ipods available soon so order very quickly before the backorders go up.

Question

Allan,

Is there any news on Apple updating their Powerbook models?

Although I seriously doubt it, a 17" G5 Powerbook wouldn't go amiss

Andy.

I think the 15" PowerBook will be updated very soon. Don't forget the Appl Expo is on the 16th so should see some updates then.

If he did return it it might be tricky as it is now EOL so is not current any more but was when he ordered it and maybe even when it shipped. Worth a go though.

Not really fair on the dealer though as Apple give nobody any notice on this kind of stuff.

Thumbs up

What updates are you expecting on the Powerbook Allan?

Has the 15" been in short supply - this, I've found, is usually an indication that Apple are going to update their line.

The 15" uses the old logic board design hence the Airport cards are fdifferent for the 15 and 17" powerBooks eg no Airport Extreme support on the 15" and is suses the old PC133 SODIMM. The new logic board desing is far superior and should give beter all round performance.

Not sure what lese is coming up. Rumours suggest an Apple phone, an Apple handheld ( although the tablet PC has been dropped from the soun of things). I'd also expect so see more Apple software and maybe a G5 based XServe.

We'll see in a few days

Allan,
My friend bought it from Apple on-line. Does that make a difference?
