A virus on someone else's pc will be "spoofing" its sender adress to appear as yours. As long as your AV is up to date, just disregard them!

The current thinking is now that messaging Anti Virus systems should NOT be configured to send notification to the "sender" nor the "recipient" in light of all these spoofed addresses. Causing no end of grief at my place.

Yup - the AV notifications are causing as many full mailboxes due to things like Sobig as the virus it's self.

I'm in the processs of turning off 'message to sender' for viruses coming into our customer LANs. I looked at one Exchange Server the other day and the outbound IMS queue was nothing but GroupShield DAV alerts waiting for retries.

Having the same this morning Some guy in San José is sending the virus around (61.34.144.145) and I'm getting the bounces wich sometimes do contain the virus.

Ironic that anti-virus gateways are now helping in spreading the virus
