I want to link my Laptop to my desktop PC to swap files.

What cable do I need to do this???

I've had a look in PC world but nothing immediately sprung out in the cable section.

Craig.

Assuming they both have network interface cards, you could use a 'crossover' twisted pair RJ45 cable. Or use two straight twisted pair cables and connect both devices to a hub.

or you could get a laplink type cable which connect up via the parallel port. easy to setup, only problem is slow.

you can also get laplink type cable which connect up to the usb port.

IMHO, the cross over cable is the best.
