XP versus Win 2000 - worth upgrading?
#1
I'm perfectly happy with Win 2000 and Office Pro 2000 but the PC's getting a bit long in the tooth now and the hard drive makes some strange noises....
Time for a new machine then - do I really want to spend £300 on XP and XP Office Pro or should I just get the new machine and stick on my Win 2000 stuff.
Machine is stand alone, small business use and ISDN to the net.
Any views welocomed.
Thanks

If you're moving to newer hardware, then XP has some nice touches and Wizards which you might find helpful. Office 2000 to XP? Nothing that big IMO.
If the money is burning a hole in your pocket, then do Windows XP first.
Chris.

If you're used to using Office 2000, stick with it. Dear old Microshaft found it in their wisdom to mess with the way things work in OfficeXP. Nothing major, but loads of minor tweaks, been using OfficeXP for months now and still not used to it.

I'm sticking with Windows 2000 but using Office XP.
I tried Windows XP on my laptop but it got slower and slower and after a while I'd had enough and went back to 2000. Also had a few niggles with Windows XP which couldn't be solved.
Just MHO.
