I have a monitor with DVI interface aswell the std 15pin vga.

When connected to my gfx card via the 15pin vga cable, I can use 1280x1024@60hz, but when connected via the DVI interface, the max res is 1024x768.

Is this normal? or do I need a new gfx card?
gfx card is an old Hercules Geforce2 GTS, and monitor is a compaq 1825tft

cheers

Tin

That monitor supports 1280x1024@75hz on dvi and analogue so i would assume the drivers are to fault.

have you tried compaq's inf driver ?

Thanks Monkeh,

downloaded the drivers from compaq, and also tried the latest nvidia drivers, plus also updating the bios firmwire on the hercules gfx card too.. when i try setting it to 1280x1024@60hz screen goes into sleep mode, and then returns back to current 1024x768 mode.

just alittle flumuxed by this issue.. going to see if I can get another gfx card to test it out with.
