Programming favour needed

Hi peeps.
I have tried unsuccessfully to write a program and i know it would only take one of you programming gurus like two minutes to knock up.
All I want it to do (in dos) is take a drive letter spec'd on the command line and compare its size to a folder (c:\backup). If it is greater than the folder then run a command, else if not run another command.
If someone could help me out i'd be most grateful.
