trying to get pkzip to work with long filenames...

eg. pkzipc -add myarchive.zip c:\my documents\*

does anyone know how to write that so pkzip can understand it ? Its having trouble with the space between "my" and "documents"

os=win2k pkzip version=5 (command line)

cheers

christian, I noticed you've missed my wildcar '*' off the end - so how do I store the contents of the "my documents" folder ?

cos neither of these work...
pkzipc -add myarchive.zip "c:\my documents\*"
pkzipc -add myarchive.zip "c:\my documents\"

If you use his other option it should work

pkzipc -add myarchive.zip c:\mydocu~1

Definitely doesn't seem to want to zip shared files on the win2k server. I bet they do a special version I have to pay extra for, for that!

this is pi$$ing me off now. It hangs whenever I try and zip a shared folder with a long filename eg. "user files"

are there any other compression programs like pkzip with a command line option ?
