There really are so many WiFi hotspots around these days that these things are just gimmicks

If I had a wireless internet connection, I'd wrap my house in tin foil, then put a big chalk symbol which would mean - keep away freeloading gypo's

 

I wonder if this thing is flummoxed if you turned off beacons?
